First the sweet show. http://www.archive.org/details/gd71-12-06.sbd.kaplan.2418.sbeok.shnf
The show starts out killer with Truckin'. There is a cut in it and Bobby butchers the lyrics pretty well. That sort of thing doesn't bother me at all. It is a bit like stubbing your toe though. After that, it's rockin' good. The Pig stuff is real nice. The Cryptical Envelopment > Drums > The Other One > Me And Bobby McGee > The Other One > Wharf Rat is what I paid to hear. Major kick in the ass. I didn't really find any weak spots in this show.
Everyone have a good day.

omg omg omg the grateful dead kick ass. omg omg omg

This is a sweet show. I mentioned it a few weeks ago. Some liked it and some did not because it did not have a 45 minute Darkstar. None the less, it is for sure IMO a very good one.

Peace ouT

Listen to this whole run from the Felt Forum. The Dead were so strong at this time, and getting stronger through '74. They had such a nice showcase of tunes that they didn't need to play Dark Star every night.
The only thing I thought was weird about this show was the shortness of Playin'. I had forgotten that it wasn't fully developed in '71. I've spent a lot more time in '73 and those Playin in the Bands are nicely jammed out. Peace.

LOL! That's F'n GREAT man! Count me in as someone who can see the greatness in the SONGS and the interplay within them.

Sweet. I kind of thought that was a little goofy when I wrote it, but hey I was a little tipsy

No man, that was right on. Some people think only second sets are worth anything even when everything after space is crap and the two " jams" before drums are played just going through the motions. Of course this doesn't pertain to 71, but I'm just speaking about the mentality in general
